Di penghujung program Oscar 2018 ini, terjadi kesalahan penyebutan siapa pemenang buat kategori Best Picture. La La Land sempat disebutkan menjadi pemenang, sampai semua tim maju ke atas anjung. Namun penanggung jawab anjung terkejut di bagian sayap anjung menyampaikan "Oh ... Oh my god, he got the wrong envelope." Mengetahuinya Produser La La Land, Jordan Horowitz, mengungkapkan "Tidak ini sebuah kesalahan.", Ia mengumumkan bahwa pemenangnya adalah Moonlight, "Ini bukan lelucon, Moonlight mohon naik ke atas anjung.". Terjadi kebingungan di anjung dan awkard moment. Ternyata Warren Beatty mendapat amplop yang galat dari kru, ia mendapat amplop pemenang Best Actrees yang tertulis "Emma Stone - La La Land".
